The original Lep’s World was a huge hit with multi million downloads all around the globe. So many people like my self when the little green fella came back for some more platform action. Lep’s World 2 promises to be bigger and better in pretty much every way.
The original Lep’s World was no slouch when it came to the visual department. So it would have been very easy to just reuse the same graphics once again. But that is not the case here. What we have here is a brand new graphics engine that looks phenomenal. Everything is just so crisp and clear that you would would think you are playing a high end Xbox Live Arcade game. There really is no weak part when it comes to the graphics. The character design is fantastic, and so are the levels. The levels both in the fore ground and back ground look amazing.
To summarise how this game is in terms of game play it is actually very similar to the original Super Mario Bros games. Any one who has every played a 2D platform game before will fit right in here. As a mater of fact there are more than a few levels that are clearly using the layout from Super Mario Bros as there inspiration. You need to get the little leprechaun from point a to point b you go from one side of the level to the other. Sounds simple enough, but along the way you are going to be very busy.
As well as taking out the various enemies by giving them a good beating. You can also break blocks in another homage to Super Mario Bros. You can just run through the level as fast as you can, but that is not going to get you that high of a score. If it wasn’t for how nice this game looked you would swear that this was a game on the Super Nintendo because that is what it plays like.
The core game play is very fun indeed, but there is just so much content here that the game never gets boring. There are numerous power ups for you to get. And all the enemies that you will be putting in your place are not only very well designed, but there are a great variety of them as well. Not to mention the really cool boss battles.
I am going to go out and say that this is one of the best games I have played on my iPad so far. It is amazing it really is. For a limited time the game is free, but even at full price it is under a buck which if I am honest is an absolute steal. There is no reason form someone to download this game at all. There is hours and hours of entertainment to be had here.
