Free Music Download Pro Review
US iTunes, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store

Free Music Download Pro – Downloader and Player is created by Alfadevs. It costs $1.99 and is available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

This is a really great application for a number of reasons. It features an in-app browser which can download music files. The music can then not only be sorted into playlists and played, but you can also find lyrics for each song.

The web browser is similar to Safari and even supports a bookmark manager. The download manager is also powerful. It has very fast downloading speeds, can manage up to 10 downloads at a time, can download in background mode, resumes interrupted downloads, and can even download files larger than 20MB over 3G.

The media player supports Air-play, continues to play music in the background/lock screen, plays mp3, mp4a, and mp4 formats, and even searches for lyrics.

The file manager has folder/sub-folder functionality, folders can be locked with a passcode, and files can even be transferred to PC and iTunes. The file manager also has thumbnails for videos.

The Good:

This application sets your device free. When you first open the app you’ll be given a list of free legal music downloads.

The Bad:

While using this application I never felt like it could be better in anyway. The only thing I’d like is to transfer the downloaded songs from Free Music Download Pro into the stock Music app, but I think that is an iOS limitation. I don’t think applications can move songs into the Music app.

I never hold any music on my phone because it takes up space and I rely on Pandora instead. However I know that most people like having songs downloaded to their phone. This app lets you find free songs, download them, and manage them beyond what the Music app can do. If you don’t want to spend $1.99 on it right off the bat, then there’s a free version you can try first.
