If all you are doing is using the Home Button to return to your home screen, you are missing out on all the other ways that the Home Button is created to operate. For example, if you are all ready at your Home screen, you can click on the Home screen to go to Spotlight Search and then click on the Home button again to get back to your Home screen. Another way to use the single click with the Home button is if you are in Fast App mode in order to shut it off.
Speaking of the Fast App Switcher, if your double click the Home button on your iPad you can access start the Fast App Switcher. You can also double click the Home button to access the media controls. If you triple click your Home button, you can access the accessibility options.
If you click on the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time, you can take a screen shot of whatever is on your iPad that will be saved to your camera roll. If you click and hold down the Home button and Sleep/Wake button at the same time, you can reboot your iPad.
