iMessage is easy to start using right away just by tapping on the Setting app on your iPhone. After you tap on Settings, then tap on messages and turn iMessage to On. It will take a minute for it to activate, but then you can start using it right away.
If you want to add email addresses you can do that in the Settings app on your iPhone by tapping on Messages, then tap on Send & Receive. After you tap on Send & Receive, choose “Add Another Email”. You will find that right under the “You can be reached by iMessage at” section. Just type in the email you want to add and tap on Return on your keyboard.
To send message from iMessage on your iPhone, launch the Messages app and then tap on the Compose button. From that point you can start to type in the name of the person you would like to send your message to, this field will pre-populate and you can tap on the name of the person the message is being sent to. Then, after typing your message just tap Send. That’s it!
If you want to send an image via iMessage from your iPhone, launch the Photos app and find the photo you want to share. When you tapped on the photo you want to share, tap on the Share button and tap on the Message option. When you are in the message option, you can type the name of the person you want to send the photo to and then hit Send. You can send a video the same way.
If you want to share a contact card via iMessage on your iPhone, launch the Contacts app and find which contact you want to share and tap on Share Contact. You will find that towards the bottom of the screen. From that point, tap on Message and type the person’s name that you’d like to share the contact with and then tap Send.
If you want to send Map locations and directions with iMessage on your iPhone, launch the Maps app on your iPhone and find the location you’d like to share. If you are sharing your own location, you can just skip that step and just go straight to the next step which is to tap on the Share button in the bottom navigation. From that point, tap on Selected Location or Current Location, then tap on Message and type in the person’s name that you want to send the directions to.
If you’d like to send a voice memo through iMessage on your iPhone, tap on the voice memo your Voice memo you’d like to send in order to expand it. From this point you can tap on the Share button, tap on the Message icon and then type the name of person you want to send the voice memo to and hit send.
If you want to turn iMessage read receipts on or off on your iPhone you can launch the Settings app, and then tap on Messages. After you have tapped on Messages, you can see where to turn Read Receipts on or off.
If you want to delete iMessages from your iPhone, Launch the Messages app from the Home screen of your iPhone and hold your finger down on any message in the thread you’d like to delete messages from. Then, tap on the More option when a new menu pops up. That is where you will be able to choose messages and delete them.
If you want to copy an iMessage on your iPhone , launch the Messages app and find the message you want to copy . As you hold your finger down on the message you want to copy a new menu will pop up. At that point, just tap on Copy.
If you want to turn off message previews on your iPhone, launch the Settings app and tap on Notification Center. From the Notification Center you can tap on Messages and scroll down until where you see Show Previews and turn that option off.
If you want to block Contacts on your iPhone, launch the Settings app and tap on Phone, Messages or Face Time. After you tap on one of these options, you can scroll down and tap on Blocked. After you tap on Blocked, tap on Add New, find the contact you want to block and tap on their name.
