To mirror your iPad to your Apple TV you have to make sure the iPad and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. From that point, walk through the following steps:

Double tap the Home button to bring up the apps list popup menu.

Swipe through the apps until you see the AirPlay Mirroring icon.

Choose the AirPlay Mirroring icon and when you see your Apple TV, check the mirroring option.
