“Man that is a stupid idea” This was pretty much what I said when I first heard the term endless runner game. Boy was I wrong as over the last couple of years these endless runner games have become one of my favourite to play on my iPad. OvenBreak that was released a little while ago was a ton of fun that saw you play as a little gingerbread man, Well OvenBreak 2 is here and it promises to be everything the first game was and even more.

OvenBreak 2 has a very similar art style to the first game as a mater of fact the game looks exactly the same as the original. Sure the levels are different, but for the most part it looks more of an expansion than a full out new game. Do not get me wrong this is not me putting the game down. As it still looks great the lead character. GingerBrave still looks cute and badass all at once, but now he is joined by some equally as impressive gingerbread friends. Such as GingerClaus and GingerBright just to name a couple of them.

While the graphics may not have seen a huge overhaul the game play has been pretty much tweaked to perfection. I have played a ton of endless runners and I have not had this much fun with one for a very long time. The original OvenBreak was a fun game and truth be told at the time I played it I never felt like there was anything missing. But the game play changes here really have made it much more fun to play. There are other endless runners out there that may have more complex controls and generally more to do. But the developers have clearly and rightfully I might add decided that OvenBreak 2 should be simple yet loads of fun.

You can boost collect various charms and just overall do things that many other endless runner games have offered since the first game was released. All these little bells and whistles that have been added to the game play may not have changed the heart and soul of the game, but they do make it much more fun. One other thing that I loved was now how there was more social high score features. What I am talking about here is the weekly tournaments that are on offer. These are sure to add a ton of replay value to the game.

OvenBreak 2 for me is a prime example of a damn fine sequel. It is certainly not a game changer by any means. But all of the changes that have been made certainly make this one of the most fun endless runners you will play. This is a game that is all about fun and I highly recommend you give it a try. It is perfect for kids and adults.
