If you want to make a phone call with your iPhone all you have to do is go to the phone app, tap the Favorites item and then tap the name of the person you want to call. Or, you can tap on the Contacts and find the person you want to call. Then, as your call begins, a screen with options will come up including a mute and speaker option. You can tap mute to mute the microphone and the person you are talking to your iPhone will not be able to hear anything until you tap mute again. You can tell if mute is on when the button is blue. If you tap the Speaker option during a phone call, it will broadcast the call your iPhone’s speakers and you will hear the call through them. To turn off Speaker, just tap it again.
