There are those games that when you see a screenshot you think that they look very basic and are probably not really worth your time and effort downloading. Sadly many people miss out on some great games this way. And Bubble Island is one of those games. I put off playing this game for ages because of those reasons I just mentioned, but I do wish I had downloaded this bad boy sooner.

I am not going to lie and say that this game looks amazing because it does not. It does not look bad at all, but at the end of the day this is a puzzle/arcade game and in the looks department it has flash game type of look about it. That is not to say the game is without its charm. It has a nice holiday feel to it and you helper Racoon. Yep that is right you have a helper Racoon has a nice little Santa hat on to get you in the mood for Christmas. It does have a nice and friendly look to it just do not expect to be blow away.

I am sure many of you have played games like this before. The idea is that on the top of the screen there are a bunch of bubbles. It is up to you and your Racoon buddy to pop these bubbles in the fastest time possible. The idea is that your Racoon helper will load a certain type of bubble that then must be fired at a bubble that is the same. You can get a few different upgrades including the awesome fireball that will make your job a little easier. Many times I have miss aimed and fired at the wrong colour of bubble. So while you are against the clock you still need to make sure you are taking the time to aim carefully. It is a very delicate balance of speed and accuracy that you will need to master this game.

It is a fast and frantic game that will have you on edge because one bad move can wreck your whole game. This is one of those games that has the “one more go” thing going for it where it is so addictive you will just keep telling yourself you will have one more game. As well as the game play being very addictive there is also the fact that you can challenge your buddies as well. You can challenge them to see who can be the weekly champion. I know that me and a friend actually got pretty competitive over this for a while.

Bubble Island is a great game and one that I urge all of you guys to go and download. In a time when iOS games are trying there hardest to emulate a video game console it is nice to see that there is still a place for a fun arcade style puzzle game.
