A beautiful mess is yet another photo editing app for ios. This app was created for the blog A Beautiful Mess. This app is cute, but not worth the price of admission ($0.99 at time of writing).
Although there are six filters available they aren’t that much different from each other. One nice feature is that you can adjust the settings of the filter if you don’t quite like the way the filter is applied. You have access to fifteen different borders, which vary in style. You can also buy three different border packs as well. If you want to add text to your photos are you a limited to four fonts. You can purchase an additional font pack if the free fonts are not to your liking. If you want to add some doodles to your drawings you can choose from twenty-eight. There are also two additional doodle packs, which you can purchase. The last add on at your disposal are pre-created phrases such as Adventure!, enjoy, OMG!, and nine other phrases. There are also two other phrase packs available for purchase. One issue I have with this app is that there is only a start over button; there isn’t an undo function. If you screw up your going to have to start all over or make sure your certain you want the change you’ve made to your photo. I don’t feel like this app brings anything to the table to set itself apart from the other photo editing apps. This is only the second revision of this app. I see a lot of room for improvement. The reviews for this app are varied. My favorite reviewer started out by saying At least they got the name right. Others are praising how great this app is. I’m not sure if they are even using the same app I was using.
