There are tons of alarm clock apps out there. It’s hard not to find one that meets your needs. Wake Alarm is an ios app that puts a slight spin on the alarm clock app world. This app allows you to slap and flip over, shake or just slide a snooze button on your ios device.

The interface is simple and clean. In order to set an alarm you slide your finger around the circle around the time to the designated time. You can change the wakeup sound and the days of the week the alarm should go off. Once set the alarm will disappear off screen. You can set multiple alarms. Where this app is different is the way you turn off your alarms. In the settings you can set which kind of alarm you want. Shake and flip, Shake, or Swipe. You can also set the shake level and how long the snooze will be set for as well as how loud of an alarm to use. There’s a tutorial video in the settings menu as well. Unfortunately at the time of writing I was unable to watch the video. Fortunately the guide in the settings menu explains all of the features in app. Another nice feature is a night mode. This makes the screen not as bright but still allows you to see the time. The only downside is the app has to be open in order for the alarms to go off. This is probably not the fault of the developer but a shortcoming of ios. Even if the app is not in the foreground it will at least post a notification. The alarm sound on my iPad mini wasn’t really loud enough to wake me, but was loud enough to get my attention while I was working on other projects while testing this app.

For $0.99 this app is definitely worth the download. I like the unique ways of turning off the alarm.
