The Math Tree Review

Pros:

-Simple UI

-Effective at being a great educational tool

Cons:

– Limited to basic math

The Math tree aims to be a simple yet effective educational game for kids out there learning the basics of mathematics. Offering basic addition and subtraction problems from numbers 0 -10.

The math tree is far beyond a simple game as it focuses mainly on educating children through the app. Each level issues a new addition or subtraction problem on a tree. The problem then asks the user either to add or remove things like birds, fruits, and other objects off or onto the tree in order to complete the equation. Afterwards the user is asked to solve the equation from a multiple of four different answers. Super simple user interface for kids is whom the app is mainly targeted at. What it does best is explain the problems and equation. In every problem, a voice narrates the numbers and tells you if you solve it wrong and or right.

Math tree comes in and meshes audible & visual learning in one simple app. Taking the approach of not only showing kids a dead simple UI, but backing it up with a reassuring voice. In life people especially, children, learn in different styles and this game, keeps it simple while meeting those requirements. Only thing I’d like to see in the future is support for more lessons in one app. While the aim of the application is addition and subtraction it’d nice to see multiplication and division added into the fold. Many other apps try to have you download multiple versions for different lessons, while a unified experience would be more convenient.

Overall at one dollar its a no brainer purchase if you have a kid learning basic math who has an iOS device at their disposal. This isn’t only a fun experience for kids but a highly educational one that is easy to navigate and is super affordable.
