Tangent is an ipod/iphone app for editing your photos. This app was created by Ben Guerrette who classifies himself as a seasoned designer and developer with over ten years of experience. Unfortunately his app Tangent doesn’t feel like it has much to offer. When you start off you are asked if you want to start fresh or use a template. The templates are rather fun to play with. Starting fresh I found harder to work with. The lack of instructions on how to edit photos is a little annoying. This app would benefit from the use of tool tips. Once you make a change to your photo your stuck with it. An undo function would be great. Unfortunately if you make a mistake or don’t like a change you are stuck with it unless you want to start over again.

Once you get your image the way you want it you can share it directly to Facebook, twitter, or Instagram. You also have the options to save it to your camera roll or send it to another app. Through sending to an app I was able to send to my Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, and few other apps. This feature is very handy.

It would be very nice if there were a native iPad version of this app. It could take advantage of the extra screen space and give a better preview of the images.

A lot of people seem to like this app a lot. A few people have had issues with using the in app purchases.

There are two in-app purchases you can purchase. The artist pack and the designer pack. The author gives you the ability to try out the packs before you buy them. Without purchasing anything extra you get 11 shapes and 11 masks to choose from.

I do not feel like this app is worth the price of admission of $0.99. I feel that this has potential be better, but falls short. A lot of people seem happy with this app and his others. I’m a little disappointed in all honesty. With being only two revisions hopefully in a few more it will be worth the download.
