The iPhone 1st Generation officially went into obsolete status on June 11, 2013, although it is considered a vintage item and you will be able to get limited support for it if you need to, but not at an Apple Store. Also, being able to update or have compatible apps with this iPhone will become more of an issue as the new platforms take over.
