You can take a screenshot of your iPhone anytime you want. All you have to do is press the Home and Screen buttons down at the same time. As you are holding these two buttons down, you will hear a click as if your iPhone took a picture from the camera. That means that the screenshot was taken and you can access it by opening your camera roll.
